Meet Keychain: The simplest way to accept global payments

Hi everyone — Kunal and Yash here.

We’re excited to introduce Keychain, and we want to share exactly why we're building it.

Keychain lets you accept international payments in your local currency at a flat 1% fee. You get the money directly in your local bank account. You don't need a foreign entity, and you don't need to worry about compliance headaches.

Watch: Integrating Keychain in less than 60 seconds.

How we got here

To be honest, Keychain didn't start this way. Over the last couple of years, we tried a few different directions—remittances, in-person payments, B2B transfers.

Some of it worked. A lot of it didn't. But mostly, it taught us what not to build.

There's a moment in a startup where you stop chasing "new ideas" and just look at the problems right in front of you. For us, that moment came when we asked: Why is getting paid by a client in another country still such a mess?

Once we focused on that, the solution became obvious.

The current options are painful

As we talked to other founders, we realized that if you’re a business outside the US trying to get paid by US customers, you’re usually stuck between a rock and a hard place:

  • The "Heavy" Route: You set up a US entity using Stripe Atlas or Clerky. This means lawyers, EINs, state filings, and months of waiting before you see a dollar. It’s overkill for most businesses.
  • The "Expensive" Route: You use standard processors like PayPal or Payoneer. They look easy, but the fees eat you alive. Between FX markups and withdrawal fees, you end up losing over 5–8% of your revenue.

We built Keychain to get rid of those compromises.

Here's the deal

We stripped away the complexity. With Keychain, just 3 lines of code allows:

  • Your customer pays normally (in their currency, via a checkout they know).
  • You get paid locally (directly to your bank, usually same-day).
  • 1% flat fee. That's it. No hidden FX spreads. No "surprise" charges.

We handle the heavy lifting on compliance and licensing so you don't have to.

Who is this actually for?

We aren't trying to replace everything for everyone. But if you fit one of these profiles, we built this specifically for you:

  • The "Stripe Atlas" Graduate: You already did the hard work. You incorporated in the US, but moving money from your US bank to your home country is slow and expensive. Keychain solves that "last mile" problem instantly.
  • The Global Seller (who hates paperwork): You're running an e-commerce store or selling services and you're ready to go global—but you don't want to register a new entity or fly to the US just to open a bank account. You want to sell internationally now, without the administrative nightmare.
  • The Subscription Business: You charge monthly or annually. You need recurring billing that works across borders without 5% fees eating into your margins every single month.
  • The Builder: You don't want a generic, hosted payment page. Add a payment button with just 3 lines of code, or if you prefer your own UI, use our APIs to build a fully custom checkout while we handle the infrastructure underneath.

Under the hood (How it works)

We use stablecoin infrastructure to move the money instantly. But importantly—you never see this. You don't need a wallet, you don't touch tokens, and you don't deal with crypto complexity. It just works like a faster, cheaper bank transfer.

The tech is finally mature, and the regulations are finally clear. The window is open, and we're ready to help you get paid.

If you're running a business that sells internationally and payments have been a headache, we'd love to hear from you.
